Not the typical Tri-Colored shots I have taken in the past..............
The last three looks like he thinks that he is a duck.

    Great shots Ira.

I witnessed the same "ducking" behavior the other day with a white ibis. It would partially submerge and stay there for a while. I had never seen an ibis behave in that manner before. I don't know what the temperatures been like on the east coast, but it's been very hot on the west coast (Florida) and I'm wondering if that has something to do with this oddity?

In this case, it's more than that. This Tri-Colored Heron is actually swimming, and feeding on minnows at the surface of the water. I have never seen one swimming before!

Absolutely wonderful shots!!! It's a neat looking bird, too.

Very nice ste Ira. They have 3-4 distinct feeding patterns and I've seen this one before but not too often.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
