I can see where you are trying to go as there does seem to be a lot of nice detail in that rock face. It's a nice composition with the foreground tree and the cacti leading up the hill. But my eyes don't seem to be going in the right direction (probably mostly my eyes).
The foreground seems a little flat to me. Some of the parts of the dead tree do seem to be pointing in the direction of the rock face. Maybe boosting the exposure and/or the contrast there may help push the eye up to the rocks better? Also the brighter area in the upper left takes some attention away from the rocks.
It's a very interesting shot. I love all the details heading up the hill.

Thanks- I was trying to draw attention to the face in the rocks on the left.. Maybe a little more dodging in the midground is in order.
