I suppose Upstate NY is not too different from Arizona. I really like the third one of the gull and you caught the Canada Geese in a nice V.
Thanks Stephen. I got to the marsh at early dawn, and five minutes after I arrived about 20 geese took off, circled above, formed a V, and headed south. 5 minutes later another 20 did the same thing. This happened 4 times until approximately 100 geese had left the marsh for places unknown. I was lucky enough to get one decent V formation with my 300 F/4

All of them are excellent but that first one.... you did an awesome job of capturing a sharp image of a bird in flight AND not completely blowing the highlights against the darker background!!! Very nicely done.

Thanks Travis. I like that one too, even though it's "just a gull". :ivar
Thanks Ric. This was 1/400 at f/6.3 ISO 200 with my 300. I used a single point of focus and somehow managed to keep them all in decent focus.
There were about a 100 geese in this marsh, and within 15 minutes, 4 flocks took off, about 3 minutes apart. They circled above, then formed a V, and then headed off. I was lucky to get one V.

Seagull #3 has a dark aura. Either a post-processing issue or maybe he's been marked for death...
