You'll probably get a better response if you pick your favorite half dozen and post them here rather than sending us to a link. Looking forward to seeing what your choices are.

I have all of them on smugmug, how do I move them here? Do I use the insert image thing?

I don't mind the link but it is easier to post your shots in the thread. I looked at your flower shots and I think you have some nice work. I'm not a pro, so I'm interested to see what responses you get. I thought some of your shots look like snapshots, but overall I think you have some very nice compositions and some nice artistic touches. I like your work.

    Good luck-

A link...how refreshing. Somestimes I think...I'd rather have people visit my site. Maybe they'll see something else that catches their eye.

Anyway....I like the series. Good job.

You do have some very nice photos on your website. I think you have a good eye for composition that with some honing can become great. :)

Do I need a macro lens to get close-ups of flowers, or can I just use my 55mm?

Hi there Mr Quiet, had a quick look at the images in your album.
The one I like the most is this one ....

    386786466_9J9ps-L.jpg

One thing I noticed is that almost all your shots except for a few are in the centre of the frame.

See how much more interesting the shots are when they are not dead centre, you have some nice shots in there, the one I put here is probably the best on in your album nod.gif

I think you have the potention to be more creative with your work.
I like to look at other peoples work and see how they approach photographing things.

You can learn a lot by just looking at other peoples work.

You have some very good shots in the album and some not so good.
    Thanks for sharing thumb.gif .... Skippy :D

Skippy is the one to tell you about getting out of the center of your shot! I think about it every time I shoot now, Skippy. I don't always succeed, but I always think about it since you "lectured" me about it.

Honestly, Mr Quiet--Skippy is right about it. I'm amazed at how much more artistic some things can look just by moving a bit. You do have some wonderful shots and ideas that could get better with some different perspectives. Loads of potential!

Thanks so much! :D I will leave some comments later on. A great way to learn is to check out the photo data (exif) if it is available.

The truth is I used to do exactly the same thing.
I centered almost every shot I took and posted them on the forum.

It's a very very very hard habit to stop doing,
but once you learn that there are different angles you can shoot from rolleyes1.gif
things start to come together..... its always fun to learn.

I like the first one. The second has two much "empty" space to the left. As to the "eye" believe me one can learn the art of composition. It doesn't always come naturally.
