A Day Trip to Niagara
This past Sunday I drove from Mississauga to Niagara Falls.
I was in Ontario for Canadian National Club Soccer Championships as my sons team was competing.
My husband and younger son and I arrived Thursday evening. A family emergency developed in Edmonton, causing my husband to fly back home on the first available flight, and resulting in my daughter not coming to Ontario (and being grounded for the rest of her life!:rolleyes)
So, I was left to drive on my own on the super busy highway system of the GTA.....not something I relished but we got through it unscathed! Anyway, on to Niagara Falls...
Sunday was a day off for the team, gloriously sunny and warm, and a great day for a road trip. The drive was uneventful. Along with my younger son, 3 other soccer parents came along. Our first activity was to ride the 'Eye in the Sky' ferris wheel, for a great birds eye view of the American Falls:
One of the parents has just had major reconstructive surgery on his leg, cannot walk miles and miles and wanted to go on The Maid of the Mist, so Alex and I went along:

Sorry to hear about the family emergency back home, hopefully everything is okay!
Traffic around Niagra is horrible! Waiting to cross the border and then driving up to Phelpston took HOURS which is why I paid a commerical company to bring my mare down to New Jersey last summer! The Maid of the Mist is a fun boat ride and I went on it too when I was there. I didn't have my waterproof Olypmus then though, is that what you had with you? Really cool shots from on the boat!
I believe I read somewhere that your son's team won?! Congratulations!! I hope you enjoyed your trip to Niagara!

Yep, nothing is beyond repair or replacement and no ne was hurt, so all will be okay. Honestly, 16 year olds brains do not work!
Traffic was not too bad, but the bridge across was jammed with cars trying to go through.
And, the shots from the boat are with the 20d and 24-105. When we were under the Canadian Falls (where you do get wet) the camera went into the plastic jacket!
Thanks, Christina.

Ramblings About Me
Thanks, Adam! Niagara Falls is kind of a bizarre place these days, with a funky carnival thing going on. But if you walk beyond that street, it is a beautiful city.
There may be a bit of LR experimentation going on in that shot!
