I love the shot. Very good use of out of focus/focus.

And FM, the beauty of a big place like that is that for a long time, as long as you don't become part of a clique or something, you can practically be anonymous.

You know, like living in the city (FM) or a small town (dgrin (ish)). I relaxed over on FM a bit, Andy was the one who showed up to critique my photo.

I don't think I will ever get over that surprise!

The traveling pope of our world.

And I am catholic so don't flame me, I can say that stuff.:):

I love the shot. And how the ball has crossed the focus plane. My only comment is
the image seems a tad dark and maybe could use more sharpening?

I love how you've got the pitcher iso'ed in DOF. That's what makes it for
    moi.

hmmm ok maybe I will try to work on it in ps more.....but yeah it was a tough shot to frame, because you also have a ump and a catcher back there and I shoot through the links of the fence.
But this purposly OOF shot I thought was much better than this one.

This one I was focusing on the SS and the running came across my path (no idea how I pulled this off cause it seems like I shot from the dugout, which i dont do...so maybe it was close to the plate.

But thanks guys I appreciate the comments, on FM its just sort of sitting there and all I can see is how many people have looked at it.

    Damn you're quick!

I've just returned from the pub and here are two new images!

I think #2 looks a bit sharper and makes the pitcher stand out.

P.S. if you wait for FM to comment, you might be waiting a long
    time. Just my observation.

I don't think so. But then I'm looking at it on an LCD, not glass tube.

I don't know if I like the sharpened one better, but I am glad you got rid of the white spot, I couldn't tell which was the ball, but I didn't take the energy to post back.

Good shot. I got a kick out of the statement, "I am just starting with PS".

A guy named Rutt can confuse the h out of you about sharpening. But Damn he is good. Or his sharpening tutorial is.

g (I don't know about sharpening people, he does that with CMYK, and I think I am going to have to research that on my own. I like his tutorials, he does the research and writes them up for "Dummies". He didn't say that, but I can, cause I am one. Takes me longer to understand tech stuff than it does him.:D )

You can ask doctor it, I really dont use PS at all. Its only the last couple of months I have been using levels (mostly for hockey photos, for the other ones I generally dont touch) and its only the last week or two I have been discovering brightness/ contrast and the sharpen tools.......

Erik giggles at me sometimes cause I really seem like a dunder head that some how happens onto good pictures...."Oh I didnt know that button could do that"

Man I will admit I am bummed....didint make the final list on FM with this photo.... sometimes convincing people sports photos are more than mere snapshots, but windows into a story is difficult.
But flowers...hey those tell a story.
