Just a thought . . .

Challenge!

Since a bunch of our locally famous admins and "answer" gurus (andy, sid, humungus, steve, baldy, others) are off visiting Ansel's haunts & Yosemite's valleys (yosemite thread link), I thought it might be a fun idea to post our weekend activities. Yeah, I'm jealous of them but I've got a pretty great weekend planned myself. How about you? :dunno

Now here's your challenge . . .

Post a paragraph or two of your weekend plans including photo activities. And by the way, if you have a boring weekend on the calendar, the rules of this "challenge" allow you to exaggerate, inflate, magnify, or overstate your actual weekend plans - maybe something like: the dept of the Navy called me and want me to ride 2nd seat with the awesome Blue Angels and shoot pics for which I will be highly paid . :wink Of course, you might be asked to post your pics on dgrin!

Let's make those Yosemite trekkers jealous :thumb

I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.

    Here's mine!
My daughter is completing her 4 year university education at West Chester University near Philadelphia. Her major is Sports Medicine and Athletic Training. Graduation is Saturday morning and of course as a proud dad, I'll be taking pictures! She wants to continue her education and become a certified prosthetist - fitting and making artificial limbs for amputees.

Saturday evenning I'm shooting an event at Hempfield High School (Landisville, PA) called Dance Theater. It's a amazingly professional, 3 hour, big budget broadway type stage performance. Here are a couple of shots from a previous year's show:

Tonight is Cinco De Mayo - I'll be shooting photos at Forte in Birmingham, MI while the DJs play.rolleyes1.gif

Friday I have a model shoot with 2 people.

clap.gifSaturday Crystal Method will be performing at Bleu in Detroit and I'll be taking photos during that show.

Sunday will be spent processing photos & contact management.

Yosemite sounds great, and being around great photographers even better. I'm still learning through self experience at the moment.

    I'll be photographing karts
I'll be photographing a regional kart race. Hoping the Mother's Day weekend doesn't impact the enrollment. I already know my two best customers will not be racing for this very reason. :(

I'll be taking some shots through Mini Hubble.....
I will be deploying my own mini Hubble Space Telescope made form an old Canon lens a toilet roll and some sticky backed plastic.

If the weather is clear I'll have a thread going with some results.

Keep watching for the 'How to make and deploy your own Hubble Space Telescope' thread...

    I kid you not......This is quite a good idea....rolleyes1.gif

And so your not all on the corner of your seats wondering just how this is done...

Lucky me - I get to work! Retail, selling lots of bikes for Mother's Day. But we might as well just call it earning more "Lens money." rolleyes1.gif

Oh yes, the photo activities. Right now the battery is charging. Hopefully the weather Sunday will allow a few frames.
