Tamron 90mm macro or Tokina 100mm macro

ok I know the tamron 90mm is a stand by but after looking at the tokina 10-17mm lens and wanting that the Tokina 100mm caught my eyes most likely stick with Tamron hard to pass up with the rebate but I wanted to ask before I buy will be ordering next week also if somebody has one to sell drop me a pm :thumb

    Both perform excellently. The Tokina has a better
    (metal) build quality than the Tamron and is 10mm
    longer (= slightly better background blurr).

    The Sigma 105mm/2.8 Macro also very nice.

    I would pick the Sigma over Tokina over Tamron
    based on personal preferences (handling, build, feel).

    But honestly you cannot go wrong with any of these lenses.

    Bought, tried and sent back the tamron. new from B&H, so at least deal with a rep dealer!

    two great post since these are a both based on experience and surprisingly contrary to the main stream ok but toss another hook in there these are all close in price so based on performance which ne_nau.gif thinking Canon 100mm 1st but your thoughts would be great! thumb.gif

    based on B&H prices here is the fallowing
    Canon 100mm f/2.8 $455 after rebate

    Sigma 105mm $439

    The Tokina 100mm f/2.8 $399


    The Tamron 90mm f/2.8 macro $359 after rebate

    You could do a whole lot worse than the EF 100 f/2.8 Macro

    Here's one I took a couple of weeks ago with this lens...
