~Some IR Fall Color fun - Oxbow Bend

So I had a chance to tweak one of my fall color photos with some good IR simulation software (I know I know, nothing is as good as a true infrared cameras but I cant afford to convert my 1DsMIII heh).
Anyway, I'm pretty stoked on the results from one shot in particular from Oxbow Bend a couple of weeks ago during a very memorable morning shoot as the low clouds loomed over Mount Moran and the entire range before lifting mid-morning.
Thanks for looking! :thumb

Tricks of the trade I use a dual process to obtain the IR simulation, first by separating the yellows and reds post-process, and then by using a dodge & burn touch up that helps pull back the clouds and medium elements making the leaves stand out as the only truly white element left.
In the field, I shot this one at f16, ISO 50 for 25 seconds, holding the sky back with a graduated ND 1.2 filter. Thanks for the comments!

Cool stuff! Thanks for the links.
Infrared photography is such a fun thing to experiment with during fall colors or anytime you have interesting leaves or foreground plants that can show the heat.
Someday I'll hopfully get ahold of a modified IR digital camera. They are so cool!

1dsmIII conversion is no big deal, you just get a big screw driver and pry from the left side really hard...
the sensor glass just pops out and walla....its done....
