I finally submitted some shots although my captions didn't seem to go through :(

Can I write them in there somehow?

Hey Schmoo... you had any thoughts on the form factor of the book? I've got a couple panos I've been working on, but if the physical layout of the book isn't going to be pano friendly, I'll switch to some other shots.

    Preview of one of them:

    Hey Cabbey,

Those are some pretty awesome panos! Very artsy :D

Last year panos were great - we had room for two-page spreads so we can certainly accommodate anything. So don't worry about formats!

The final crop out of that is 35355x2809 :) Sadly I'll have to scale it down a bit to upload it.

    Hi Steph.
I e-mailed our photos, But I didn't realize the message from the email would be posted also.
You may want to clean that up a bit.
    Sorry for the inconvenience.

As I'm going through I see that this latest submission may have had some completion issues on the upload. Can whoever it was re-submit? Sorry about that.

Earlier today I sent out a reminder to shootout participants who have yet submitted their entries. I got this surprised reply from Marc:
Well, this is the first I have heard of both the book and the deadline since the dinner at the Red Cliff in. Very sorry but I will not have any images by tomorrow. Furthermore I am on a video shoot through the 7th so, the soonest I can have images is the 10th. Please let me know if that will suffice.

    Happy New Year
I told Marc that Schmoo is in charge so I'd let her handle this.

Hey, I got the reminder e-mail but I had already sent mine in. I just checked the gallery and didn't see them though. Should I resend? Or are they floating in the ether?headscratch.gif

Hey Christina! You can resubmit if you don't see them. I have been going through and deleting extras.

There are also several with no caption or shooter info... If anyone sees theirs without those, put a comment on the photo. I've been going through and moving that into the captions. (Schmoo, I've also been hiding dupes and corrupted images, I can delete instead if you'd prefer.)

Corrupted images?? There were multiples? eek7.gif I deleted two already, but the only one in question is this one AFAIK

Awesome, thanks thumb.gif. I suspect we may not get shooter IDs on all of them, but I hope we do!

My jaw is on the floor with some of these shots. Seriously. I am so so so amazed at the work that's been rolling in!!!

    Gallery

Just some admin stuff: I do not want to have to go through and delete photos that don't have shooter information, so please, please, please can you all check to make sure that your images are properly labeled? I don't want to publish un-identified photos so this is essential for you as the participant! Just leave a comment underneath, and that should be sufficient. thumb.gif

Also, I've gotten very few non-photo submissions. It's not required but this year we wanted to give Dgrinners the opportunity to write something (reflections, essays, impressions, shout-outs, bad goth poetry, lol3.gif) so feel free to submit that as well if you wish. PM or Email works, too. :D

Lastly, I'm going to need some helpers to be editors and proofers and general wall-bouncers over the next several weeks. If you'd want to do this, speak now or forever hold your peace!

Thanks for volunteering guys and I'll be calling on you when it's time for edits or if there are questions. :D

These three images are in the gallery without ID or titles. Can someone claim them?

    447931900_WxkCY-S.jpg

    447931890_o5UNr-S.jpg

They are grouped together so I imagine that it's all by the same photog. And is the last photo from a pre-shootout trek? headscratch.gif

That's David Ryan's (jdryan) work. And yes, that's a Lake Powell sunrise from our pre-shootout journey.
He submitted it before he knew the rules. rolleyes1.gifdeal.gifrolleyes1.gif

    Hi guys,

I really, really apologize for the delay but I finally got in the last submissions and I've already started putting it all together. After my trans-continental move, things got put on hold for a while. Your patience is so very appreciated and I'm posting this update not only for your benefit of staying in the loop, but so I have no excuse now not to kick this into top priority. thumb.gif

    So sorry! :cry
