One of the nick names for Northern Pike in my neck of the woods is slough shark. I saw this one as I walked on the dock at Alberta Beach on Lac Ste Anne.

This next one, I actually just stopped to get a picture of the autumn colours around this beaver pond, and then saw the geese.

And then they saw me, and jumped into the water.

This last one is just for fun...some goat dogs protecting their charges from me, how'd they know I wanted to cart of a goat :D

Thanks for looking.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Hehe...when I saw 'slough shark' in the title, I thought must be someone near by!

Are there any leaves left out your way? Everything here is bare.

Love the dogs/sheep shot - do you know if the dogs are Great Pyrenees or mixes? (Have you met my hybrid pooch Kelso? He is part Pyr)

    Thanks for posting, Angela.

    Thanks Harry and Ann.

The dogs were fun. Although I have to admit that I when I stopped to take pictures of the goats, I wasn't expecting one of the goats (the black and white dog) to start barking at me. It made me jump...then laugh. This barking brought the white fellow from a very great distance. I think the black and white dog is a mix between a pyr & boarder; and the other on is a pyr.

Ann, I have seen photos of your beautiful and very large Kelso. Does he herd anything, other than your family :D , the dogs in the photo were very happy herders.

As for leaves...alas there are nought...well, I think there might be three hanging on the lilac bush in front of my house, but with today's wind they may not last either.

The black and white one could be a landseer, although they both look smallish - like the sheep are close in size. Kelso's mom was a Pyr/Bernard/lab cross and was black and white, just like that! We got Kelso near Vimy.....

That wind was something else, but sure left some pretty cloud formations around this morning.
