Hi All,
I was wondering if someone could explain, or point me to some good tutorials explaining the methodology behind working in the different modes in Photoshop. Currently, I do all of my work in RGB mode, but I'm wondering if I should starting diving deeper into the other modes in my processing?
Any advice is very appreciated!

Understanding the different channels content, can be useful in editing images.
An extensive discussion of LAB, based on Margulis' book " LAB - The Canyon Conundrum" begins here - http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=18203&highlight=Lab+thread+RUTT
A discussion of CMYK is contained in the discussion of Margulis's "Professional Photoshop"here - http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=48066&highlight=Professional+Photoshop+rutt
Reading these two threads and the accompanying book will keep you busy for a while These were not light reading for me.
I am moving this discussion to Finishing School, since it is really about post processing, rather than shooting technique.
