More from Moab and Beyond...

I promised in my last post that I'd post some shots actually from Moab. But first, a small diversion to our favorite stop along on way, the Paria Plateau near Page, AZ.
#1 Welcome to Mars
#2 Shutter (aka, jdryan3) lines up his shot, and provides a sense of scale for this one
#3 Moving right along to Moab, here's the standard Turret Arch through the Window shot.
#4 Here's the non-standard Turret Arch through the Window shot. :wink
#5 I turned around just in time to see this.
#6 Everybody was grousing about the bad light at Dead Horse Point that morning, and yet there are more shots posted from there than anywhere else. I don't think people realized what they had until they saw the shots. I know I didn't.
#7 On the last day of the shootout we drove up into the La Sal Mountains and found foliage and variable weather which made for interesting shots.

#11 The trip back down was a blur
Thanks for looking.

Thank you, sir! I'm sure you realize it was your zippy driving down the mountainside that created that blur.

Now that you and Aaron posted every imaginable capture from our trip all I have to do is to delete the 70Gb worth raws and consider the mission accomplished
Oh wait there's more.............
If it makes you feel any better we haven't posted our model shots yet.

Oh wait, I can't: I have a model shoot tonight..
Thank you very much, Tom.

Thanks very much, James. I wasn't kidding when I said you inspired me. I tried the HDR settings you posted as a baseline and got some great results, with or without some variations, depending on the shot. So thanks for posting them!

Great! Once you start, you'll never look back! I find that I will pull -1/0/+1 exposures from most of my RAWs now and process them in Photomatix. Adds more processing time, but gives great results.
