Jefferson Barracks National Cemetary

I spied some good light early yesterday morning, so I headed over to Jefferson Barrack's National Cemetary down by the Mississippi river. It was founded in 1826 and has soldiers interred from the Mexican war to the latest war in Iraq. The repetition of headstones makes for some interesting shots.

#1 and #2 really stand out to me with #2 being my personal favorite.

Nice shots Jeff, I have a feeling that a low angle panoramic could also make a really cool b&w ??

I have seen these type of locations before and have often thought it would be a great place to photograph.

    Cheers

I like all of these Jeff. The colors are vibrant and the contrast makes them pop. thumb.gif

Thanks everyone. Good idea about a panoramic shot. I thought about that after I left yesterday. I'd have to fine the right spot because there's a lot of extraneous stuff around. I had to frame my shots carefully to avoid benches and power poles, etc.

Yeah, I have always thought a bw pano would suit this type of shot. Might be difficult to frame but could be worth it. Throw in some fog and early morning light and you could have the makings of something very cool.

    Cheers

Excellent, a lot of cool compositions, and a great use of narrow DOF.
