The first image is a single exposure tonemapped in Photomatix and converted to b&w in CS3 with Nik Silver Efx Pro. The second image has curves and levels and b&w conversion again with NSEP. Both were shot with a Canon 40D and a Sigma 10-20.

Bryan I love that first shot with the sun bursting over the top of the tomb stones, and the light trails it has cast down on the ground between the stones as well......... that one is a very dramatic shot
I like the second shot as well, your converstion to B&W are terrific.
Both shots are very sharp .... that first one is a a beauty!
