Uploading problems -- Duplicate images + Errors

I haven't had this many problems uploading until now. Historically I have used Drag & Drop, for simplicity sake, but since that has been retired I have branched out to "Simple" and Adobe Bridge's built-in method.

I'll start with the "Simple" method. If it doesn't crash FireFox, I am guaranteed to have duplicate photos... what's up with this?

Next up is Adobe Bridge's built-in "Upload to SmugMug" feature. This feature seems to work fine, and then without warning it will crash reporting that there's something wrong with my Internet connection. This happens intermittently, and I can't seem to relate it to any perceived problem with my network.

Are either of the above known issues? If so, is there a workaround?

    Hi Eric,

    Welcome to Dgrin! wave.gif

Sorry to hear about your uploading troubles. The Simple uploader in Firefox shouldn't crash for you. Could you download the newest java version and re-install it? You can get it from www.java.com

It also shouldn't produce any duplicates. Can you give us a detailed description of how you add photos to the uploader? Do you drag photos in (from which application) or use the buttons within the uploader?

Before clicking on the upload button once, have a look through the list of photos in the uploader to see if you accidentally added a photo twice.

Regarding the Adobe uploader: Can you get us a screenshot of what your screen looks like when you get the error message?

Also run a speedtest and traceroute. Go here:
    http://smugmug.speedtest.net

We are the Yellow San Jose pyramid. Please let us know what the results are.

Try these instructions to run a traceroute on a PC:

That will help us see if and where any problems may be.

If you don't want to post the results here, you can always take this conversation private by sending us an email.
