Monthly/Annual Subscriptions

I use Smugmug exclusively as a stock image site. I would like to be able to offer monthly or annual subscriptions where clients would have access to the entire site and could download any image, as in the Shutterstock" model. I know that I could in theory give them the guest password and they could use the owner save, but I am afriad that I could use that with only my most trusted clients. I would rather have a system where clients would log in with a user name and password, at my site rather then smugmug, and then have a way to monitor what is downloaded, from where it is downloaded, limit quantities per month, etc to prevent abuses of the model.

Any chance some of these kinds of features could be added, or am I the only one using Smug Mug as a stock site??

Hi Frank,

That's a cool idea. Would you mind adding it to the stock photo thread? I know it's been a while since Baldy made this post, but it's an extensive topic and lots of things need to be hashed out. No time frames on it, but it's on our radar.

At this point such a thing is not possible as we don't require visitors to sign up just to view SmugMug galleries. We certainly don't recommend using the guest password feature for such a thing as its powers are more of a business assistant and they can also change gallery settings etc.

Yes, I took a look at that thread and it looks like they have dropped the whole Idea. All the more reason to come up with a few tools to help those of us who have developed a stock site using smugmug...
