The long wait...
I received an email from the folks at City Hall telling me about a new eagle nest they heard about. So, I though I would wander down to the site and get some shots of the crafty critters plying their building skills.
Just as I stepped into the clearing I saw an eagle fly away. So I waited patiently for it to return with some more building material.
I took a shot of the partially completed nest...
As I was waiting, I heard a racket up in a pine tree not to far from me. I got a shot of downy woodpecker working on her nest and then went back to waiting.
Just before I was ready to doze off, I was startled by a couple of butterfly's flitting around...a couple of more shots then back to waiting.
Then I noticed the wildflowers so what the heck, a few more shots...back to waiting.
Finally I just gave up. I guess the eagles were busy doing what ever eagle couples do in the late afternoon. I'll try again tomorrow.
Have fun,
Phil
