I apologize for this being a bit last minute, but I wanted to get the word out to San Francisco Bay Area photographers that tomorrow (Saturday 10/25) the Airship Venture's Zeppelin will be arriving into San Francisco Bay Area. This is great photo opportunity for local photographers who need an excuse to pickup their camera. Airship Ventures is also looking to engage the local photography community and is holding a photo contents as well! More information can be found at my blog posting...

Thanks for the heads-up Greg...sounded like a good photo op.

I tried to make this, but got stuck with a work thing. If anyone attended, please post your images!

    Article about the Zeppelin

Dan and I attempted to get some shots from the Golden Gate, but I haven't looked at anything yet.

It was flying higher above the GG than I thought.

I expected it to fly lower, maybe even between the north and south towers.

    Nope.

It was a few hundred feet up.

I think the Golden Gate shot would have been shooting straight up while on the bridge, or composite an image to give it more detail.

To me, it looked like a white blimp (or alien) in the sky.

I could have gotten a tighter shot of the zeppelin, but I would have lost anything that would give the context to the location. I also shot some IR, and that might turn out better.

Definitely more interesting with the bright Zeppelin against the darker sky with the bridge below. Gotta love that camera April!
