Following this thread: http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=104544&highlight=%22hide+caption%22 I was able to hide the captions of either the file name or “Olympus Digital Camera” from my galleries. But it doesn’t seem to affect viewing the pictures in slide show mode. Is there different CSS code for this?

Thanks,

Randy

The only effective way to remove “Olympus Digital Camera” or the filename
from the caption is add <> to the caption. Look under photo tools for edit
caption/keyword bulk and change them all at once. This fools Smug into
thinking there is a caption and the <> html will show as blank. All this auto
caption and keyword filling on upload is really a nuisance to a bunch of
    users.

I agree. I'm baffled why we can't seem to get Smugmug to understand why this is such a pain and agree to fix it.

I just uploaded a soccer gallery and have to do all sorts of keyword maintenance on it after upload just to clear away and fix all the stuff they goof up. They won't accept my keyword "game7" or the team league code "U16B321" because they won't take keywords with both alpha and numerics in them. Then, because my images have filenames like "JF2_1234.JPG", they add "1234" as a keyword I don't want. So, I end up with two keywords that I put in on purpose that are inoperative and one that they add that I don't want. How can this possibly be the desired behavior? I keyword my images myself in Lightroom and Smugmug won't use those keywords properly.
