I got outside today to take some pictures of my 5 month old wearing his Yoda costume (for Halloween). I was using my Canon Rebel XT with Sigma lens and a Canon 430 EX Flash with diffuser.

    He is cute.

The lighting on the first one looks the best - not so direct/harsh like the rest of them. The diffuser helps, but is there any way that you could bounce the flash, get the flash off the camera or use natural light?

Right now, I cannot get the flash off of my camera. That will be a future purchase. Maybe I can pan the flash up a bit more to see if that helps.
