I got my new camera on Friday (Canon Rebel XSi) to launch me into the world of SLR. I'm going to be taking some pics of a bunch of babies in costumes on Tuesday and thought I should practice a little. And who better to model than my son :D

So here are the results of my first attempt. Advice always appreciated!

#2 and #3 are my favorites.

I'll let the knowledgeable forum pundits speak to the more specific technical aspects, but I think they're adorable! Great subject - some awesome expressions - the background is nicely undistracting, and the lighting looks both clear and nicely soft to me (take it with a grain of salt because I'm still a n00b, but I like it!). He's a cutie!

Very nice - although I particularly liked #1 and #3.

I like the pictures without props best, but that's me. My favorite fall/halloween prop is just real pumpkins. I like the lighting. The eyes are gorgeous.

    Thanks everyone!

You are right about the pumpkin - I confess I got lazy and didn't feel like carving one :p I think I will go pick up a little one and use it as is though.
