I have mentioned earlier, I had a fair share of Error99 during the shootout. Hopefully with this update it's gonna be "no mo":-)
I've been waiting for this since I first found out that 1.0.2 was out there in the wild and that 1.0.3 "was coming soon."
I've not had Err99 (not even this past weekend when I was shooting the wedding) but I have experienced other anomolous behavior. I hope this clears it up.

TIP: The first time I ran the upgrade process, I got an error and it wouldn't complete, nor properly back out to the menus. Had to restart the camera. I attempted to re-run it and this time it said my battery was not strong enough to continue. Sure enough, the battery indicator had dropped from full to partial in between my two runs, and was lkely the cause of the first failure.
I installed a fresh battery and the upgrade went smoothly. So, please use a fully powered battery or AC adapter before proceeding.

Here is the 50D 1.0.3 update. I just completed the update and it works fine. If you have 1.0.1 or 1.0.2, this is for you.

i assume they wrote the 2GB in the directions before all these larger cards came out.
my firmware was 1.0.1...
i read that 1.0.3 fixes these... just wondering...does anyone know what version 1.0.2 fixed?
now if it wasn't dark already when i leave the office I could go out and test it.
Thanks again,
Edward
