A question for folks in Vancouver, BC.

Hey all...I have an opportunity to go to Vancouver BC in a few days (Nov 8-16) to visit my daughter; she lives in the south of the city close to the bridge to Richmond (Marpole, I think?). So, my question...is there any place near there to see the native wildlife or birds? I'm going to try this trip without a rental car, so I'd need to find a place I can reach via transit / walking.

A DPR member (Hutch) has offered to take me to the dyke in Richmond, and he's also been watching a family of eagles build a nest near one of the local golf courses...what else should I try to see?

Thanks in advance!

Neil

Hi Neil. My son and his family also live in Vancouver so I try and get out at least once a year - depending on air fares!mwink.gif

Anyway - spend some time in Stanley Park - you can get there by bus and it's well worth going. Also, if you can get to Grouse Mountain on the North side it's quite a view. Go up in the cable car and, if you can stabilize yourself and aren't afraid of heights (I'm terrified) the views are spectacular. Have a good trip. I'm going out in February to meet my second grandchild. Unfortunately the weather in Feb. is grey and dismal in Vancouver. Doesn't make for spectacular photos - but then again, I'll be doing baby portraits, right?clap.gif
