Reorganzing Sub Catagories

Maybe this is already discussed, I didn't see it though.
My issue is I have the below structure for photos:
Race event/Race date/Racer number of bike
Now all that is fine and good and I am happy with it. My problem is once I have things all neat and tidy I inevitably get someone asking from a shoot months ago "Can you add XXX image to my gallery" This, of course, skews all the dates of my sub catagories as it displays them as the most recently updated is the first one.
Is there any way for me to go through and reorganize my sub catagories to get rid of some of the chaotic look I have in my tree?

Hi Brandon,
You can organise your categories and galleries by position. Under "Gallery Categories" on your home page is an option to sort by "most recent: position". If you click on position, you can sort your categories as you wish. This help page has more information if you need it.
