For what it's worth, I like #1 the best. I'm not all that crazy about the Papyrus font (or whatever similar font you used), but I like the word-play that you did with your name. It seems to get the point across the best.

    Good Luck

Why do people post their equipment in their sig. Isn't it kind of like bragging? That having been said...

I like word play in number one as well, but I agree about the font. I do like the font that your name is in, but I'm just not too wild about the other font.

I'm going to throw another idea into the rink. Personally, I think your name should stand out more. Right now "Photography" is taking too much of the attention. What about taking #3 and taking the "Photography" and putting it under your name? Not necessarily original as I've seen others do the same, but it is pretty slick. Try different fonts too. I agree with the others on that front. Fool around with different ones to make it your own and stand out from the crowd.

    Cheers,
    D

P.S. Attached a quick edit below to illustrate what I was trying to say above. I hope you don't mind.

I do like what 'dlibrach' did, but I also like your last attempt. I would suggest lowering the opacity of 'PHOTOG Y' about 25%. In other words use a dark gray instead of black to even more separate your name and photography. Hope that makes sense.

If you want your name to be recognized, then the logo suggested by dlibrach works the best. Hightlighting your name in the word photography just doesn't work for me; you're forcing the viewer's eyes to work too hard to find it.

Great idea! I think you are on the right track Raphy but I think that PHOTOG...part is still playing too prominent of a role. The opacity trick might make a huge difference as Hikin' Mike suggested.

Brilliant. I love the fact that I have to work a bit on the logo. I think the best logos are like that; something about them forces you to keep looking at them. I think making your name more apparent is much more uninteresting. I think this one shows you're clever---in a good way.

EDIT: I would lop of the left-most part of the underscore, though, so it lines up with the vertical line of the P. Also tighten the kerning between the O's and the T. The NOGAL breaking the line: some would say it should either line up with it, or be outside, but I think you've broken a "rule" just right. I think this is excellent design. deal.gif

Nice. I like how the underscore splits NOGAL evenly. I still wish the line ended at the P, but this is one very nice logo, IMO. thumb.gif

Thanks David - i did try it ending at the "P" but it felt a bit "cut-off" for some reason headscratch.gifne_nau.gif

    Thanks for all your suggestions!

Looking really good Raphy. The only thing I would suggest is to not greyscale the "y" since it is part of your name. Or bold it like the rest. Otherwise people are going to just call ya Raph! Of course if Raph is your name and not "Raphy" then ignore me :D

    my .02?

this logo looks great for us that recognize what photog xxx Y is.
but in general i think the average customer would try to figure out what photog means, ie, is this some german name? is it a pokemon character?
    etc, etc...

i just think you should think about that...

imo, i think your name should come first, and keep photography unbroken.

i like this black on white:
