Hi -
I'm new to backdrops and systems. Thus far, my focus in photography has been natural light outdoor shooting. The only indoor shoots I've done, I've done with a really narrow black velvet backdrop and also a 4.5' wide gray paper. Both of these I've put on a homemade backdrop stand that my husband rigged up out of PVC. This has been great soo far but now I find I'm ready for something more heavy duty. Can anyone tell me there preference in Backdrop Stands (I've seen superior seamless and JTL so far online but no reviews) and backdrop preferences. I liked the quality of picture I got from the paper backdrop but it heavy and narrow. I'm now into family portraits so I know I need to upgrade to something wider. ANy advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Tanya

I use a very straight forward set of light stands with a telescoping piece that connects to the tops of the light stands.

You can probably find something similar from Photoflex.

I have bought from backdropoutlet as well. very friendly and fast service.
I bought a muslin, two days later it went on sale and they credited my card.
also there is a guy selling backdrop stands for around 90.00. I picked one up. pretty sturdy for the price.

    Thanks
    Thanks everyone for the feedback.
I ended up buying a Superior Seamless stand from my local camera store. It seems to be easy to set up and pretty sturdy. Thanks though for all the info. I am going to buy some back drops from the websites you all listed.
