Well the original name of the town was Coaling station A named by the Southern Pacific Railroad. Then they just shortened it to CoalingA.

I used to work around the area a lot up until 1990. Would like to get back up to the top of Joaquin Ridge to get pictures of Three Rocks at sunrise.
