Water Flows

Like some of my fellow Pacific Northwesterners have indicated, fall is over and the rainy season has begun. With a dreary forecast in hand, I wanted to go out and take some moody photos from some high lakes near Stevens Pass along Highway 2. The weather cooperated but the photos just weren't there so I headed home.

Along the way, I decided I wanted to stop and check out a waterfall that I've often driven past on my way to someplace else- Deception Falls. The falls are located about 10 miles west of the past in the heart of the Tye River valley. The namesake falls start on one side of the highway and continue underneath the highway. Along with the falls, there's a half mile loop through some really fabulous forest.

I'll definately return in the short and long term. Due to the rainy weather, I encountered some water on my lens which messed up some shots I loved (I had forgotten the lens hoods! Grrr..). I'd also love to see the forest during its peak growing season as well....
