Is there a outage tonight that I don't know about? (seems to be one about every other day lately)

I have been trying to upload a 383 mb 8 min video since 5:00 CST and it's now 10:47 CST.

Tried three different upload programs...no luck.

I am not a Professional photographer and I only have the Pro acct to get the better video features than the other membership levels.

It should not be this hard now that Smug has been supporting videos for quite a few months.

Going to bed now, guess the relatives will just have to wait another day until I can try tomorrow night.

We have scheduled maintenance on Thursday nights, other than that there there have been far and few between - still, a site like ours has lots of moving parts and occasionally there will be downtime - but - I'll stack us up against anyone out there and we're up and availalbe 99.998++++

I don't see any errors in your upload log. What, specifically and exactly, is happening? Is the uploader going through the job and giving any messages to you?

If the problem persists, please write the help desk, ATTN: Doc, he's our video specialist and we'll examine your video for you. We have a way you can send it to us.

    Thanks!

Just tried again this morning 5:55 CST. I tried the Java version just now and it got to around 200 mb and then crashed firefox.

Last night I tried Old Faithful, Java, and Picasa. With Old Faithful and Picasa I did not get any messages it would just sit there and after an hour or two I would close them and try again...with Java it would crash firefox at different times.

I do subscribe to the outage RSS and your right it's not down every other day, in fact it wasn't down last night while I was trying to upload nor is it down right now as my video once again was unsucessful. But if I am unable to upload (and it's not something on my end) then what do you call it?

I'm not doing anything different with the video, it's DVD quality mpeg under the 500 mb limit and only 8 minutes long.

The fact that you're blowing up on your end @ 200mb is sorta telilng.

    We'll help!

Doc suggested to use IE and make sure java was up to date.

I was running Java 6 update 7 so java.com said I need to update to Java 6 update 10...which I did.

Using IE and the newly updated Java it worked.

Note to self: Use IE in the future for video uploading
