I was out chopping some wood this weekend and as I was getting ready to go back to the house, I noticed something move. I looked closer and found this Praying Mantis on the ground. I very easily could have stepped on it as it was right where I was working. I was glad that I did not. I went and got my camera and took a few pics.

One thing about those Mantis, is they are not camera shy
That one sure has a huge abdomen... wonder if its a female?
I have no clue how you tell.
I like the pose in the second last shot.
When these things are on the move they can be hard to shoot,
some will just sit there and let you take the photos,
while others are intent on getting away.
You got yourself some nice shots of the Mantis ... Skippy
