Sometimes you have to much lens for the shot. Was shooting BIFs and was walking up to an overlook and down the slope was this guy working on lunch in the berry bush. My 300 mm it was hard to get at least his head in frame. Took him about 30 seconds to realize that big black eye staring at
him through the bush wasnt quite right. No crops here

    The portrait crop is much more effective. Great opp you had there its very hard to get that close to them. It never fails that when they get that close you have a prime on your camera.
