Thought this was appropriate for the weather we are having (cold and very dull). A window gnat on a wheelie bin lid.

Hmmmmmmm I was feeling blue today at work, maybe I should have gone outside and sat on the bin lid for a while rolleyes1.gif

Thats a pretty colour blue for a bin lid, I recon I'd go for it too if I was a bug nod.gif

Thanks for sharing Brian thumb.gif .... Skippy :D

The first photo has a weird feeling, there seems to be no reference to the ground/lid making the fly seem to float. The second on has a bit of dust which helps, but the white oof areas just above the head/thorax/wings are distracting. how tiny is this guy?

    Nice!
Did you stumble on them by accident or were you purposely look for them?

    Thanks for the comments :)

Isobin - they vary a bit, but 5 to 8mm body length. I did clone out some oof white specks in #1 to give the floating effect.

Hairycrab - well I was looking for bugs in the garden but not specifally window gnats on the wheelie bin lid :)
