I ran across this article about the passing of Cecil Stoughton.
Stoughton was an Army captain who became the first official White House photographer. He was responsible for capturing daily events during the Kennedy administration. His photograph of LBJ's (after the assassination of John F. Kennedy) swearing in may be his most famous.
I've seen the photo any number of times but never knew who'd taken it. Nor the extent of the work Mr. Stoughton's coverage of the White House.
Rest in Peace Cecil Stoughton.
