Having had the luxury of voting early, I had the fortune of having the beach all to myself last night while everyone was at the booths. Good thing too because it was a dandy :thumb

Thanks Aaron, it was over by my favorite spot in Laguna Beach near Seal Rock. There is so many interesting compositions along that area that you could shoot it in 30 different ways and never get the same composition.
Yup, I hate to keep pumping those Singh-ray filters, but they really do work very well for me. Although if I had my say in custom made ones, I'd rather have the strongest part of the ND filter fade much closer to the center so that it would effectively be a strip grad ND filter.
Thanks for the comments all!

I love the way the rocks point out into the swirling water at the bottom of the shot. The sunset is beautiful, but I really like the way the water looks alive. Great shot.
I do have one question. Did you use a Singh-ray grad-reverse ND filter? Where is your darkest part of your filter? Or, do you only want a dark strip in the center and clear everywhere else?
Daryl Benson Reverse ND filter has the darkest part in the center, and it fades from center to one edge, and the center to the other edge is clear.
The photos on the Singh-ray web site doesn't show it as well, but the strongest point is directly in the center when you hold it in your hands.
And yes, Singh-ray's are worth every penny.

Here's a crude spec of what I was hoping for in a custom made grad reverse 2 stop nd filter. The main key is that it fades to clear much faster so that any background sky wont be nearly as dark.
