close-ups indeed! fabulous shots... what lens were you using to capture those? the meganser males often come within 10-15 yards of shore at the park near where i live, but to get as close as those shots look, you must have some pretty heavy glass...

Rocky, I usually do most of my bird shooting with my 1D MkIII and 500 f/4L IS. I don't normally like using extenders.
