Arica, Chile
I am out here in Arica, Chile for work -- the driest spot on earth. I haven't had a day off as of yet but I have taken a few pictures that I thought I'd share.
From the airplane coming into Arica -- these mountains are barren!

The morro overlooking the bay in Arica:

There are tons of birds:

Of course, soccer is played everywhere, including the beach:

A church in the main part of town:

The morro at the site of a great battle between the Chileans, Peruvians and Bolivians:

Arica's port, the subject of many conflicts over the years:

Sunsets:

Beach overlook:

Fishermen:

If I'd put a red filter on, it would look like Mars!

I love the slow and relaxed pace of living down here. Like a few other places around the world, lunch is served late in the afternoon and dinners don't begin until 8-9PM. Once you are there, be prepared to wait as we aren't finishing with dinner until 10 or 11PM!
C&C welcome!
