There is no end of egret fest at the rookery. I guess this bird was worried though, after hearing rumors from dgrin. He is sitting at the very top of a very tall tree. took these Sunday night.....I haven't been to bed yet, the sun is coming up. ginger

I don't quite know what that bird is doing, but I like the tree....so here it is.

When I first saw the bird like this, by chance, he looked like this, below.

I moved a bit, there was a color shift which I like so much, I did not mess with it. It reminds me of old fashioned paintings. I still don't know the bird.

I like the bird below, too.

Then there is this crazy tree where birds are nesting. They are the easiest to see, other than the nest with the babies and mother. And nothing is close. I have tried and tried to get a good photo of this tree. I finally decided to call it The Crazy Christmas Tree.

Goodnight all, or more accurately, good morning, and I am going to take a little morning nap. thanks for looking comments are welcome. I did these in a hurried way. I am working on stuff for church, too. Comments would be welcome so I would know if working more on some of these would be a good thing. ginger

The one above, it is the exception, I worked very hard on the sharpening. I was going to use high pass, but found Kelby's book before I found the high pass instructions. It worked very well, I think.

It only sharpened the bird, too.

Sometimes I wonder if I am doing landscapes, or nature photography, smile.

Good shots Ginger. thumb.gif You even caught some night herons. Now I'm jealous because we don't have night herons in my neck of the woods. :D

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thanks for looking and responding, Harry.

Is that what that bird is? Maybe those red eyes see well at night.

I had trouble getting that bird at 420mm. I finally put the 70-200 on, but that bird was gone when I got back.

    Thanks, ginger

    Hi Ginger,

This is a nice series. Harry's right about the night heron... the eyes are beautiful on that bird. Your'e doing much better than I on capturing BIF's. I'm still struggling.
    Regards,

    Thanks, Ben, Kevin and Andy.

I was lucky to see him, I heard him first flying over me. I tried to catch the flight, he saw me, landed right there rolleyes1.gif . See I think these birds sometimes think that nothing bad will happen if they don't move.

He was so close I had to back up with that 420 mm on there.

    Thanks for "stopping by".
