Love the BW on the swing...and that last one....wow. Say Ross, you sure are wringing that shallow DOF out of that 5D eh? Makes me wanna get a bigger sensor! mwink.gif

    Thanks for sharing....

BTW....I shot a set of senior portraits today in Baton Rouge, they will pass muster, but aren't anywhere near this buttery. Nice!thumb.gif

Jeffreaux! long time no talk! How have you been? I'm sure your last shoot was amazing, and I'm sure you found some great locations in Baton Rouge! whatever happened to that meeting up we talked about like...a year ago! I'll have to give you a call next time I make it down to the southern regions of our great state!

    Btw, 5D....gotta have it...

Sheesh....I dunno if I can break my habit with my 17-55 to make room for a 5D....rolleyes1.gif

I have been so busy with real work I haven't had room to make time for photography. Hopefully things will settle down there some...and I can get the gear out more. Im sure you are just as busy, but....yeah...holler when you come to town.

I love the compositions and treatment!

One thing though: I know it's late, and I've had a glass of wine or two, but to me it looks like the eyes are often soft (someone mentioned the shallow DOF - perhaps too shallow?). I'm looking at #1,2, left eye in 3, same in #4 as fairly soft. In contrast, #7 and 8 are definitely sharp.

    Is it just me?

'Still love the shots no matter what!

You don't have any wide zooms at all (according to your sig?) As Jeff points out the 17-55 on a crop body is hard to give up, but soon I will when I move to the 5D family. Just curious which lenses you took some of these with, they're all fantastic!

5 - her outfit really works in this shot
7,8 - just fun and great captures
12 - the flare here is just AWESOME!!! it looks like magical flare, don't think I've seen flare this unique before

s4per - I agree with you, they definitely look soft on here. As they do on my blog. To a certain extent, on some of the images, it is undoubtedly because the eyes are actually soft, if the head is turned too much to the side. but for some reason in some of the pictures you picked out, when I zoom in on bridge they look fine and always print well. I'm sure has something to do with the fact that I exported them, resized them, cropped to fit on signature border, then uploaded to blog, then copied links to post them on here. somewhere between all that, I bet the compression got the best of it. But good eye!

Shima, all of these are taken with one of two lenses - my 50 f/1.4 and my 24 f/1.4. the flare you mention is with the 24 - definitely some cool looking flare with that lens.

    Thank you, Agnieszka!!
