How safe are my pictures ?

Hi,

first of all I´m not a computer expert. I read an newspaper article regarding
the illegal use of pictures out of the Internet.

Smugmug is for me mainly a very good option to store some of my pictures,
sharing these with my friends and family and having access all around the world.
I don´t like watermarking my pictures or show these in a small size.
Smugmug is primary for me not a marketplace to sold the pictures.

Nevertheless a lot of the pictures were shot with professional equipment
and could be use in an illegal way. Therefore the question whether the
pictures are save with the built-in functions (right click protection etc.) or not.

Cool, thanks. You'll want to use Right Click Protection, and watermarks if you are very concerned about security. Also be sure to set largest size to something other than Original in your gallery settings.

Hi Andy,

many thanks for your reply. Does this mean that right-click-protection incl. blocking easy shareing
and external links plus turning off printings alone are not safety enough ?

I don´t like to watermark my pictures and yes, I like to see them in a very large or original size.
