Subgallerys within a gallery

I've done lots of searching on these forums and I still cant find how to do this easily.

My smugmug site is

I changed my page to be viewable by category a few months back and that is all good so now I have a Category named "Music" where my band photos are.

What I would like to do though is have a Subgallery in each of the band galleries for Crowd shots ( specific to that gig ) so that they dont dilute the photos of the band members themselves.

If I create a Sub Category under Music labelled Crowd then it appears as a totally seperate Sub gallery and I cant seem to have it linked below the gallery for the particular band/show.

Any help / suggestions would be appreciated

Categories can contain either sub-categories or galleries or both. Sub-categories can contain galleries. Galleries can't contain other galleries. It's similar to your file system where a directory can contain other directories or files, but a file can't contain a file and a directory.

The solution most people use for your situation is to have it like this:

Music (category)
....Motley and Mind Over Matter (sub-category)
........Band Photos (gallery)
........Crowd Photos (gallery)

This has the same general layout as you have now where the Music category is a listing of the music events by band name, but when you open that event, you are then offered a choice of band photos or crowd photos.

The only "problem" with that is going to be twice as many Gallerys. Will need to label them " Mind over matter Crowd photos " etc
