I was shooting some Phobes in a tree when I heard a rustle. The phobes scattered and out popped this guy. I was less than 20 feet away. Close enough to hear the camera click......which is what got his attention.

Thanks Angela. I got lucky when he appeard on that side of the tree. The lighting was just right to get some detail on the tree and light the front area of the coyote why the tree shaded the rest of him....it made him pop out pretty good.

I thought it was a Bobcat first....I hear they are pretty aggresive.

A great capture. It looks similar to a fox that we have in Scotland. I visit Memphis to see family so I will look out for it the next time I am over.

Tell ya what, I'd trade that one picture of the coyote for 1,000 bird shots. clap.gif

You've got nothing to worry about with him really, unless you corner it or their young. They don't like you as much as you don't like them.

    Thanks
Thanks for all the kind comments. Its funny I've been trying to photograph birds for years now and its very tough. Birds are easier to find than most wildlife but they have to be the toughest to shoot, while things like coyotes are probably easier to photograph but a lot tougher to find/stalk. I must say this picture is much better than any bird pic ive gotten so far.
