Thanks.

Wing Nut......what is this??? I have been pinched by flip locks so many times in the bitter cold that I truly prefer mythumb.gifbow TWIST Locks.bowdown.gifthumb....they may be a tad slower but I have yet to have them try to tear my skin off.................thumb.gifthumbthumb.gifthumbbowdown.gifbowbowdown.gifbow

I have both - Gtizo with twist locks, and a Manfrotto with clamp type. Both work, and I find both acceptable. The Twist Lock is slower ( slightly ) but quieter, and hand friendlier. The slip lock is faster when I am in hurry. I use both tripods, without regard to methods of leg fixing. My Manfrotto is smaller and lighter, but I use them equally.ne_nau.gif

Clamp without a doubt. Faster everytime (at least for me)

I have only one tripod (so far) and it came with the clamp type leg locks. I've had it for 3 or 4 years and have yet to have it pinch me .... damn ... just drew blood - that'll teach me for tempting fate:D

Ok Art...but what do you REALLY feel? :D

Have twists on my tripods and Flips on my monopod...like it just like that. twists are great for locking it down and flips are good for versatility and quick adjustments...

You can always go for the third way :D

I'm not a heavy tripod user so I can't comment on how well it holds up to rough usage but for convenience it's great.

I've only used flip locks on tripods and monopod. However, I'd prefer flip locks since it's easier to tell whether it's in the lock or open position.

i have the flips on my mono pod and love em but on my tripod i have the twist.. im not as into them but, if you leave them just a tad lose, you can adjust the leg height quicker.. if you need to level things out some.
