This was a totally accidental wasp worker on hand. I was holding the leaf when the wasp disappeared under another leaf and then re-appeared walking down my hand.

    Nice seres Brian. I wish the light was a little bit more omni- vs uni- directional.

    Thanks for the comments.

    Marko - I just have a personal preference for slightly directional lighting but this is slightly extreme because of the low shooting angle and the lack of background to reflect some light back.

    Tim - my experience with wasps is they don't sting unless you trying to upset them.

    what lens/lighting did you use?

    Canon 20d + Grip / Canon 580 EX / Canon 17-40L / Canon 24-105L / Canon 70-200 f2.8 ISL / Mannfrotto 055MF3 Tripod w/329RC4 Head.

    Hoping to get back into the art and improve my skills whenever needed.

    I just googled it and saw one of your posts on another forum lol. So which camera is this taken with? I'm so intrigued about getting into macro photography

    That would have been a great shot under ideal circumstances but the fact that thing was on your hand and you still made such a great grab....FANTASTIC.

    I was using a 40D but also have and use a 350D and 20D with no significant difference. You don't use many of the camera functions with macro shooting. A 450D would be fine.
