Okay. I need some help choosing the best image of these 4 captures. All 4 were captured Monday morning from the top of the St. Louis Arch. I had some great light and a lite turnout at the Arch that day. Anyway, which image is the coolest, the best, has the most impact, feels right, turns you on, or whatever. Thanks!

They are all pretty cool Jeff. Makes a choice tough. I'd have to go with
the broad view as seen in image #1 as my first choice. #4 coming in second.

    Hi Jeff
I vote for #3 as my favorite (maybe due to the vibrant colors ne_nau.gif ). But it has the most impact for me.

They are all cool Jeff, but tell us how you produced the "selective focus". Are you using lens baby?

No Lens Baby. Processed for wb, basic color, contrast, etc. in Capture NX2 then on to PS CS3 to apply selective gradient of lens focus blur to the image. It's taken me a number of tries to figure out the best settings for the lens focus blur. Too much and the blur is distracting. Not enough and it doesn't look like a miniature. There are a few tutorials on the web, but they're not always complete.

All the images were shot with my D300 from inside of the Arch and through the windows in the arch. The windows were fairly clean, but there were scratches and marks here and there. I was surprised at how clean and sharp the images were. I expected blemishes, lack of contrast, and color problems. I guess the Arch has some good glass on those windows. I just pressed my lens hood against glass and shot away. You can see a shot without the tilt-shift effect in this thread.

I love the fall foliage in #1 and #4. Beautiful colors- vibrant enough to look like fake trees. #1 probably has the most impact on me as an overall shot. #4 maximizes the miniature feeling.
