Some pics from a local MX race I shot this weekend

Conditions were horrible early in the day with clouds coming and going. I didn't have a CP filter yet for my new 70-200 when I shot this race. I ordered one Monday after wishing like hell on SUnday that I had one.
Enjoy

Great shots! The colors are amazing! I would slow your SS down a bit to blur the tires though. Nice job.

I like em! I have tried for the "looking down" shot - but to be honest, dont trust most of the riders i know!!!Laughing.gif!! Freestyle riders - no problems! MX racers - not so much! Those shots are always keepers! PErsonally, the CP may not have added to the shots (for my taste) The elements are there - eyes, roost and some blur!

    All good!

    Great shots!

I also picked up the MB-D10 this week as well. I'm getting close to having a damn good setup. I just need a close Macro, fisheye, and closeup lens and I'm straight!

Clouds are your friend. :) Giant soft boxes in the sky are good things. :) You did a good job. The one photo above would have benefited from a flash in a big way. When I shot MX I always used a flash. Always, day or night. Really helps make the rider jump out of the shot. The only nit-pick is your cropping is at times a bit tight. Helmets slightly cropped away, or bottoms of tires. And most of them would be hard to make into an 8x10. Again, just nits, overall a good job.
