    That is a strange one for sure. Like a clam and an alligator--a clamigator.

    Great shot. Wonderful composition. These get big if it is the type I am thinking about. I came across one that was so still for so long I actually thought it was a bronze statue at first.
    If you care more about the gear you use that the pictures you take, you have a problem:D

    Yes, they do get quite large. They average 12" in size, but females sometimes reach 24"! Large Soft Shelled Turtles have been known to take down small ducks.

    Creepy! I'm glad there is none up here in Lake Superior.. but I'm sure there is TONS of little creatures in this Lake that I don't even want to know about. eek7.gif

    Thanks for lookig, Jen. These turtles will stay in an area like this for a very long time just wateing for something to come by that they can capture in their strong jaws.
