Embedded Slideshow Resolution

I have embedded a slideshow into a blog using the HTML code...works just fine. I'm comparing the image resolution to the same photos running through a Flickr slideshow and the Smugmug images appear to be lower res.

The resolution delta is not that dramatic, more of a nit than anything, but I want to be able to show the photos in their best light on the blog.

I'm running the stock HTML code.

Any thoughts?

BTW, I'm a noob, recreational sort, still under the 14-day Smug trial and really would like to go with Smug over Flickr for family photos and the like.

Thanks.

    Hi,

Could you post a link to the blog and your site on SmugMug so I can check your settings please?

    Shay.

Seamus, here's the gallery in Smugmug...

Here's the blog, just the slideshows...

    Here is the Flickr set...

I can notice subtle differences between Smugmug and Flickr without going through the slideshow, does that have anything to do with the default sharpening applied by Smugmug? Thanks for your help, this is very much a learning experience for me.

    Hi,

I honestly didn't see a difference in resolution between the slideshows. What I did notice is that the SmugMug slideshow adjusted so that there weren't any ugly black borders when the photo went from landscape to portrait. The SmugMug slideshow kept on going while the flickr one stopped after showing once.

I haven't heard any complaints about the sharpening before but you can turn if off if you want.

    Shay.

    BTW, welcome to Dgrin!!
