CATS - the musical
I had an opportunity to shoot a local community theater group's production of CATS. My lovely wife was involved in the show (played Rumpleteaser) - she did a wonderful job - i was very proud of her. The group's (Curtain Call Players) production was STUNNING I must say. I ended up seeing the show 3 times (once at dress rehearsal and twice at the actual show)
I was not the "official" photographer, but shot these for my wife and for my own portfolio after OK-ing it with the Director
These were taken at the dress rehearsal with two camera bodies (D200 and D300) and alternating 17-55mm 2.8G and 80-200mm 2.8D lenses. Shots were between ISO1600 and ISO3200. Slight noise reduction in post was applied.
OK here goes:
if you would like to see more, they can be found HERE
I also did some front of house photos. I came up with the idea of taking photos of cast without makeup and with makeup. Since unlike many productions, the cast in CATS have some heavy heavy makeup and are sometimes not easy to identify who is playing what character. So I did two separate photos and two separate times and later combined the two photos in Photoshop CS3.
Here are some examples:
The rest of the cast are located HERE
THANKS FOR LOOKING !!!!

I'm sure your performers are thrilled with them - it's always so neat to get decent shots of the show (frequently the first time we onstage get ANY sense of how we came across to the audience).
