Mockingbird on Alert

I caught this one when I went on a downtown shoot earlier this week. Captured several nice Mockingbird images but I like this one best. Wish it was a little sharper, but this was with my 70-300, handheld. Shot at F/8, 280mm, 1/50. I just didn't want to lug a tripod around but I guess I'll have to. I really like the way this lens fades and blurs the background!

Well captured image. thumb.gif The comp could be improved though. Your subject is looking to the left so you wnat to either compose it or crop it so that he's in the right third of the frame looking left.

Thanks for the views and comments.

Harry - You are so right about the bird looking left--it's a basic rule that I tend to forget. Unfortunately, I shot the first one that way so a new crop won't help. See if these two are better.

Lovely shots. I find them quite sharp and detailed, myself. thumb.gif

The colorful backgrounds are a big plus, too.

The BG in the first is really nice, but the pose in the second photo you posted is the best, IMO. These are nice and sharp! thumb.gif
